Question & Answers

Q Just replaced old filter with this DB2, it only flows 48oz per minute. Didn't see any instructions about removing end caps which are not open. Did I miss something here?
A I found this to be the case with these filters...been using them for sometime. Flow improves somewhat after filter has been in use a few days but is still slower than regular facet volume. JS/Louisiana
A I have found that sometimes if the filter is not sealed properly, slow flow will be encountered, and possibly some leakage will occur. Try re-installing the filter, ensuring the end with the hole is pointing up. Also, applying a small amount of coconut or olive oil on the seals will help keep it snug. What can happen is the filter doesn't seat properly when screwing the housing closed, so doing it slowly helps.
A One end should have a small open hole which will be on the top when installed. 48 oz flow is about right.
Q does this filter work on hot and cold water?
A It's a cold water filter.
Q which is the top and which is the bottom? which way does it go in?
A Both ends are actually the same. There is not a definite top or bottom since both ends are identical.
A Sorry, but we haven't tried to install it yet.
A the top is what is pictured here
Q what is the difference between this filter WHKF DB2 and a WHKF- DUF that was used previously?
A The Whirlpool WHKF-DB2 is a whirlpool under sink filter for your WHKF-DUF system.
A I believe that one water filter cleanses the water at a lower micron count than the other.
A As far as I know, the filter is the same, just the part number was changed. I have been using this filter for four years now and it works well. Be sure to use silicone grease to lube the gaskets to insure a sung fit and prevent leaks.
Q Why did you choose this?
A Higher level of filtration--catches lead and other heavy metals.
A compatibility
A For use with my undersink water filter
A good price ,easy to order
A Because I have a whirlpool water filter
