Q how long are the filters good for?
A The pre and post filters are recommended to be changed every 6 months and the middle (membrane) is recommended to be changed yearly.
Q Is it necessary to change all 3 or can I just change the 1st & 3rd filters?
A The 1st and 3rd filter are recommended to be changed every 6 months. The 2nd is the membrane and that is recommended to be changed once a year.
Q How often do you change the membrane? How often do you change the wher25 filters, the two?
A I replace the two filters every six month.
A The recommended timeframe to change your filters are 6 months for the pre and post filter. 1 year for the membrane. The filters should just twist to lock and unlock.
A Haven't had to change the filters just yet, but have the new filters ready, and the filter-change process looks to be an easy job. There are only two in our family and our filtered water needs are not very high. Product works well and the ice-maker cubes are great.
Q is it necessary to replace all three filters every 6 months? Or just not change the membrane filter and change the other 2?
A Change the two sediment filters every 6 months. Change the membrane filter every 12 or every other time.
A No, just the pre and post filters every six months. I replace the membrane filter about once a year. The membrane filter is going to be more dependent on your water quality and how much stuff is being filtered out. The cleaner your water the longer the membrane will last. If the water starts to taste funny is a indicator the membrane should be replaced.
Q how often do you have to change membrain? filters arre every 6 months. Elmer
A The membrane is recommended to be changed yearly.

Q Do I need to clean the storage tank from time to time? Regards, Ken
A The WHER 25 system does require some regular maintenance other than changing the filters and membrane: The flow control is vital for proper operation of the Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge. The flow control, located in the red tube at the system housing, keeps water flowing through the membrane at the required rate. This is to ensure the system produces the best quality product water. Periodically check the flow control assembly to be sure the small hole through it is clean and unrestricted. If the flow control assembly requires service, review the exploded view in Fig. 27. in the Owner's Manual. Assemble and disassemble as shown. For a full description on Maintenance, please review pages 20-21 of the Owner's Manual: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf Dec
Q can i split the blue tube for my refrigirator?
A We do not recommend connecting the refrigerator water line to a reverse osmosis system. A reverse osmosis system may not provide the consistent water pressure required for the ice maker and/or dispense to work properly. If the pressure is not high enough, it can cause the water valve to not close completely and allow water to randomly pass through it and overfill your ice maker.
Q filter replacment numbers ?
A The replacement filter set is the : WHEERF The replacement membrane is the : WHEERM
Q does this system use activated carbon filters?
A Yes, the post filter/third filter is a carbon filter.
A The PreFilter and PostFilter are both activated carbon type filters.
Q Does this reduce uranium to a safe drinking level?
A If you are only treating drinking water for your house, an under sink RO will remove 99.8% of it or better.
Q I need to remove e-coli and fec. contamanents from my water, will this work?
A No, this system does not remove E-coli or Fecal Coliform.
Q does the change filter indicator light flash when it senses the water is no longer clean or is it based soley on time?
A It flashes soley on a 6 month time frame when the battery has a good charge. Eventually it will flash twice continually which means it is time to replace the timer battery.
Q Am looking for filter that remove floride?
A This system does not remove fluoride. We do not have any Kit RO Systems that will remove Fluoride. We do offer a Drinking Water System that will remove it. It is the CeraGuard Drinking Water System. However, it is just the housing unit and the filters. For further information about this system... click on the link below or copy and paste into a browser: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/CeraGuard-Drinking-Water-System-W9371010_p_10629.html
Q Will the WHEEDF Filters work with the Model WHER25?
A No, you will need the Whirlpool WHEERF Ultraease WHER25 RO Water Filter Set WHEERF5. Item ID WHEERF.
Q Who in Mesa Arizona installs this system?
A We do not have a list of installers. However, many licensed plumbers are familiar with installing the systems.
Q I have replacement pre- and post-filters. What is the designation for the 3rd, center filter?
A It is for the Part number WHEERM which is the R/O Membrane for WHER25 Whirlpool Ultraease system.
Q when replacing pre & post filters pre filter will spin off backwards?
A Our guess would be that they are not on properly such as not tightened enough or perhaps they were put on at an angle causing this to happen. We recommend removing them and trying to install them again. If you are still unable to resolve the issue, you may want to contact Whirlpool directly at 1-866-698-2538 for technical assistance.
Q no water coming out ?
A You will need to refer to the Owner's Manual as it could be a couple of things that are causing this. Please check the Trouble Shooting section of the Owner's Manual: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf
Q Do you install the water dispenser on my granite counter top?
A SELECT LOCATION OF REVERSE OSMOSIS FAUCET MOUNTING HOLE You will need to select the location of the Reverse Osmosis Faucet. You have three options to choose from: • Use the existing sink top hole for the spray hose or soap dispenser (Must be 1-3/8” in diameter) • Drill a new hole in the sink • Drill a new hole in the countertop next to the sink 1. Determine where you are going to install your Reverse Osmosis Faucet. 2. Check to ensure the Reverse Osmosis faucet will mount flat against the mounting surface. 3. Visually review the routing of the tubes from the Reverse Osmosis filter assembly to the faucet. Check to ensure there is adequate tube routing space between the faucet and filter assembly. 3. If drilling is needed, drill a 1-3/8" diameter hole in the mounting surface. IMPORTANT: Drilling holes into countertops and sinks should only be performed by a qualified installer who is certified for drilling such materials. Drilling of surfaces made of stone or solid surface materials such as granite, marble, Corian™ or other plastic resin products or sinks made of porcelain and stainless steel may cause permanent, irreparable damage to the sink or countertop surface.
Q can I isolate the osmosis tank from the system?
A We suppose it is possible if you have long enough tubing.
Q every now and then my faucet leaks out of the side. What is causing this?
A You will need to refer to the Owner's Manual as it could be a couple of things that are causing this. Please check the Trouble Shooting section of the Owner's Manual: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf
Q Can the water from this system be used in place of distilled water?
A It really depends on what you are using this for which was not mentioned. Water from an RO system will leave some minerals which are considered "good for your health" so if it is for drinking water, then yes you could. However, if you are trying to use water from an RO system in place of distilled for certain machinery type of items such as CPAP machines used for sleep apnea, steam irons, etc. then you will get mineral and scale build up in them. Distilled water is considered the "purest" of water and water from reverse osmosis is considered a close 2nd to many individuals. It really depends on what you are using it for.
Q I change filter and I don't have water coming out?
A You will need to purge the membrane again after changing the pre and post filters. For more TroubleShooting tips, please refer to the Owner's Manual for Maintenance instructions and the TroubleShooting Guide. http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf
Q I have this system. Your replacement filters shows a pack of two, but it should have (3). Do you carry the replacemnet filters for this unit?
A The system requires 2 filters which comes in a set with part number WHEERF which is to be changed every 6 months. In addition, the system requires the membrane with part number WHEERM which is recommended to be changed every year.
Q Can I purchase a set of three replacement filters? I only see 2 packs for the 25.
A Lowes has all of the filters but you purchase the third one separately. It is Item #129801 and lasts 1-3 years vs. 6 months for the other two filters.
A The system requires 2 filters which comes in a set with part number WHEERF which is to be changed every 6 months. In addition, the system requires the membrane with part number WHEERM which is recommended to be changed every year.
Q Is this the same model as the Kenmore ultra filter 450?
A Yes, they are the same.
Q that price include filters?
A Yes, you get three filters.....the pre-filter, RO filter and post-filter. And please be sure to follow the directions step-by-step from start to finish.
A Yes.
A Yes. I purchased this system, and it included one full set of filters.
A When you buy a new system, it does include the filters and the membrane.
Q How much air pressure goes into the bottom of the tank?
A A diaphragm inside the tank holds water pressurized to about 30 psi when the tank is full. This provides fast flow to the Reverse Osmosis faucet. When the tank is empty of water, it is pressurized to 5 - 7 psi.
Q I had main water to house turned off for a couple of days while out of town. When turning back on, water poured out of the side of the faucet where "air" can come out near the turn knob. What would cause this problem. ?? I have had to turn off and cant keep on..It continues to run for hours overflowing on counter. Filters were replaced 30 days ago. Thx for help. from senior citizen/Pat
A It sounds like you need to Pressure Check the system again. Also, need to check the Check Valve and Flow Control. Below is a link to the Owner's Manual in case you have lost yours. If all else fails, call 1-866-986-3223. http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf
Q Why does my wher25 reverse osmosis system leak from the keyhole?
A yes
A You will need to refer to the Owner's Manual as it could be a couple of things that are causing this. Please check the Trouble Shooting section of the Owner's Manual: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf
Q Why is my system leaking water from the keyhole opening? How do I fix it?
A You will need to refer to the Owner's Manual as it could be a couple of things that are causing this. Please check the Trouble Shooting section of the Owner's Manual: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf
Q how do you install the battery?
A INSTALL BATTERY To install battery, complete the following steps. 1. Loosen the screw on the right side of the faucet base. 2. Press the battery housing upwards from the front faucet base until it releases from the faucet base. 3. Replace the battery (Maxell CR 2032 or equivalent). Place battery into the holder with the positive (+) side facing the back of the holder. 4. When the battery is first replaced it will flash six times and turn off. This indicates the battery is fully charged. After the six flashes the timer enters the 6 month time cycle. NOTE: If the LED repeatedly flashes two times, it is not a fully charged battery and will need to be replaced. 5. Re-install the timer housing and firmly tighten the mounting screw. Note: These steps are described in the Owner's Manual on Page 13 Figure #14. http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf
Q where can a buy just the faucet for this ro system?

Q What is the recommended pressure at the schrader valve in the water storage tank?
A A diaphragm inside the tank holds water pressurized to about 30 psi when the tank is full. This provides fast flow to the Reverse Osmosis faucet. When the tank is empty of water, it is pressurized to 5 - 7 psi.
Q The faucet had to be replaced and the gurgling sound will not stop. Answer?
A check your tube connections and all that, mine worked fine and the gurgling stopped after the reserve tank filled.
Q what parts are in a diaphragm kit?
A There are two White Rubbery Membrane/Seals in it. One for the top and one for the bottom.
Q are all 3 items included in the order ?
A yes, as shown. I like the unit and am happy FYI
A I HAVE THE WHER25 BUT THE WATER COMES VERY SLOW. WHAT CAN BE THE PROBLEM
A Yes but the faucet is cheep plastic and I recommend buying a nice metal one from Lowes.
A It comes complete with Everything Required for Installation and Use. It includes the filters and the membrane as well!!
Q I have a WHERE 25 system, do I need to clean the system on a regular basis?
A I do not see why you could not repeat the initial flushing with bleach from time to time. Just be sure to follow the same initial instructions as before.
For a full description on Maintenance, please review pages 20-21 of the Owner's Manual: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf
Q Does this unit reduce the flouride in the water?
A This system does remove many harmful contaminants, but does not remove Flouride. Click on the link below and you can see a full list of contaminants removed: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/assets/images/manuals/wher25.pdf
Q I'd like to connect the system to my refrigerator water dispenser / ice maker instead of to the provided faucet (I don't want to use the provided faucet). Will the system accommodate this mode of operation?
A I doubt it. Personally, the fridge H2O/ice systems are designed very badly and hence they are prone to leaks and other defects and hence better left alone. even if it is possible, the piping can be long - although the R/O system say support this pressure drop for 10-15 ft of 1/4 inch dia PVC pipe - my estimate. a popssibility is to run the output from the R/O system - to the fridge (instead of the faucet). this connector nipple is in the back & bottom of the fridge (usually). the fridge has copper pipelines (1/4 in) and you will need a PVC to copper pipe connector. you may find this in home-depot. good luck, -vijay
A Yes it will
A We do not recommend connecting the refrigerator water line to a reverse osmosis system. A reverse osmosis system may not provide the consistent water pressure required for the ice maker and/or dispenser to work properly. If the pressure is not high enough, it can cause the water valve to not close completely and allow water to randomly pass through it and overfill your ice maker.
A The ice maker requires more pressure to operate than the filtration system (WHER25) can provide.
Q I have A WHER25 system. Somehow, I don't get water from this system. About month ago, I noticed water was run slow now there is no water coming out. Do I need to change tank?
A You may need to change the filters if your water was running slow and now has completely stopped. The system should have indicator lights that lets you know when to change the filters. Depending on how long you have had your system, there are other troubleshooting techniques in the owner's manual to try before replacing parts. If you no longer have your manual, you can download a copy at http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/WHER25_OM2.pdf. You may also want to check the tank pressure.
Q Hi, I need to buy replacement filters for Whirlpool WHER25, what do I need to buy? Thank you
A The "WHEERF" are the first two filters which should be replaced every 6 months and the "WHEERM" is the membrane that should be replaced yearly.
Q I have -25 system. Somehow, I don't get water from this system. Is tank problem? About month ago, I changed all three filters. Do I need to change tank or pump out air from tank or pump in?
A We do not have technical support. You can call Whirlpool directly at 1-866-698-2538 for assistance.
Q Why is water leaking from the top of the automatic shut-off cover?
A We do not have technical assistance. You can call Whirlpool at 1-866-698-2538.
Q why water stream through osmosis is so slow...was real good?
A You probably have the filters on backwards (I did that once). Switch the non-membrane ones and see how that works.
A It may be time to replace your filters. You may also need to check the pressure in the tank. If you are still unable to resolve the issue, you may want to contact Whirlpool directly at 1-866-698-2538 for technical assistance.
Q Can I mount it under the house, 30 feet from the sink?
A I am not sure about the answer to that quesion but I cannot think of any reason it would not work installed that way
A 30 FEET IS OK. DO NOT PUT IN A SPACE THAT MIGHT FREEZE.
A Yes. I mounted in utility room and ran one line to kitchen sink. And then overhead and picked up icemaker in fridge and a third outlet to master bdrm 40' away. All work fine
A I'd imagine so - you'd just have to get longer hoses to attached to the tank and filtration system.
Q tank connection size?
A The only information that I have available to me is the owner's manual. It does not list the tank connection size. I can tell you that this item should come with all the connections needed for installation.
Q If i am installing this in my apartment which I rent, would I need to replace the pipes once I leave or does this system leave the pipes undamaged?
A No, you should not have to replace any pipes. The water travels through your pipes before it ever reaches the system. This system should only improve your water not damage anything.
Q AFTER I REPLACE MY FILTERS DO I NEED TO LET THE WATER RUN THROUGH THE SYSTEM FOR 24 HOURS LIKE I DID WHEN I FIRST PURCHASE THE PRODUCT?
A i have not changed my filters yet as i just installed the system but a friend said you do not need to run the water for 24 hours just run the water long enough to purge the system of air.
A yes
A Manual says so
A Yes, the system will need to be purged for a 24 period after changing the cartridges. Page 20 of the owner's manual.
Q there is a gurgling noise coming from the base of the spigot from a hole in the back of it?
A The attachment to the drain was plugged. Easy fix, take off the PVC connection that came with the install kit and clean out the gunk. If you let it go to long it will spill out the top and run all over your counter. FYI
A We had the WHER25 for one year and liked it. We have not heard any "gurgling noise" from the unit.
A You can call Whirlpool at 1-866-698-2538 for technical support.
Q When we change the membrane?
A The pre and post filters are recommended to be changed every 6 months. The membrane is recommended to be changed once a year.
Q I need replacement filters for this 67214 Model do you sell these?
A If you have the Whirlpool WHER25, the filters are: Uses Membrane WHEERM Uses Filter set WHEERF5
Q my faucet is leaking from the left side through a key hole shaped opening, how do I fix it?
A We do not have technical support here. You can contact Whirlpool at 1-866-698-2538.
Q I cannot find replacement filters. I bought it at Lowes but they do NOT sell the replacement filters????
A The WHEERF are the pre and post cartridges that is recommended to be changed every six months. The WHEERM is the membrane that is recommended to be changed yearly. Usage and the hardness of your water also will play a factor in how often your filters need to be changed.
Q What is the calcium content of the water from this filter ?
A Here is a link to the WHER25 spec sheet: http://www.waterfiltersfast.com/assets/images/manuals/wher25.pdf I do not see that this system removes calcium. In chemical terms, calcium is reactive and soft for a metal (though harder than lead, it can be cut with a knife with difficulty). It is a silvery metallic element that must be extracted by electrolysis from a fused salt like calcium chloride. Calcium is a soft gray alkaline earth metal, and is the fifth-most-abundant element by mass in the Earth's crust. Calcium is also the fifth-most-abundant dissolved ion in seawater by both molarity and mass, after sodium, chloride, magnesium, and sulfate.[2] You may want to consider adding a scale inhibitor inline filter before the water reaches the system to help with calcium. The are also other RO systems that have the inline built in.
Q Your system looks a lot like the North Star RO system. Yours is less expensive. Can you tell me how they differ?
A We do not sell the North Star RO system but I was able to find a product manual on line. The product specifications are EXACTLY the same. I can not find any difference in the two systems.
Q i just need 3 new cartridges which ones do i order and where?
A The WHEERF are the pre and post cartridges that is recommended to be changed every six months. The WHEERM is the membrane that is recommended to be changed yearly. Usage and the hardness of your water also will play a factor in how often your filters need to be changed.
Q Does it filter out Floride?
A The WHER25 reduces Sediment including Sand, Silt, and Rust more Sediment can damage plumbing and appliances over time. It includes rust particles that can cause discoloration on clothing and fixtures. Reverse Osmosis Systems Reduces Chlorine Taste Odormore Chlorine is used in water treatment plants as a disinfectant. It has an unpleasant taste and odor. Reduces Cryptosporidium and Giardia Cysts more These contaminants are naturally present in the environment and can cause illness. Reduces Lead more Lead is often found in household plumbing installed before 1986. It's commonly introduced in drinking water through corrosion between water and lead pipe or solder. Reduces Chemicals more Reduces select contaminants such as arsenic, asbestos, copper, cysts, lead, radium and turbidity resulting from industrial discharge, pesticide runoff and gasoline additive leakage into ground water. Reduces Dissolved Solids - Including Arsenic, Copper, Nitrites, Nitrates, Radium, Chromium, Magnesium, and Sodium. It does not filter Fluoride.
Q how do i know it fits my faucet or not ?
A The Wher25 comes with it's own faucet specifically for a Reverse Osmosis System. The faucet would need to be mounted separately.
Q How often should you change the membrane cartridge?
A i dont know
A WHEERM typically lasts a year, depending on your water's pH level and hardness and usage.
A I installed my osmosis system in October, 2011 and I am still on the original membrane. We haven't experienced any water quality thus far.
A I usually don't worry about it for 5 years. It is dependent on the volume used, but in normal kitchen sink and refrigerator ice maker installation it should easily last 5 years.
Q Does the system come with the yellow, green, blue and red hoses?
A This system comes with blue, green, black, red, and yellow hoses for complete installation.
Q Does the system come with all the wires?
A This system does not have wires. It has hoses. It comes with everything needed for installation.
Q Does it filter viruses and vacteria?
