Question & Answers

Q i need the size of the unit ?
A 11 3/8" H x 6 13/16" W x 8 1/6" D
Q The unit is dripping, How do I stop the drips?
A We recommend contacting Waste King directly @ 800-854-3229 for assistance
A Mine was leaking also, if it is dripping from the plastic quick connector, try replacing it with a brass fitting. That solved my problem.
Q How to restart unit after shut down?
A I've never had to do that but looking at the unit you could shut it down by turning the temperature level to the lowest level. If you lost power it should come back up on its own
A Does your unit not turned on after shut down? I just leave mine on at all time, there is no special method to restart the unit.
Q How can I get the installation instructions for this unit?
A The instructions come with the unit or you can find them by doing an Internet search.
A I had mine installed by a plumber but there are manuals on www.waterfiltersfast.com
Q I already have a unit similar to this (ie an AH - 780)installed in my kitchen. However, some time ago it started to leak water from the unit. Can I just purchase a replacement unit (ie AH - 1300) and have my plumber install it, or do I need any other parts? Thanks so much for your reply. Regard Doug in Scottsdale
A We had the same issue. My plumber switched out the two units very quickly. However, he was surprised there wasn't a new gasket or "widget", enclosed in the box. He had to break the original "widget" in order to make the switch. As I recall, I called someone in your company, who suggested I call someone in California, and THAT company sent me a replacement, free of charge. The widget had different dimensions on either end -- like, one end was 1/4" and the other end was 2/3", or something like that. So we absolutely needed the correct replacement. Now maybe your shopper's plumber can unhook the original fittings without breaking the connecting "gasket." (Or, maybe there is absolutely no way to do it without breaking the gasket!) My husband's recollection is that the gizmo was not part of the Waste King unit, but was actually part of our Waterstone FAUCET assembly! If your shopper's unit it not a Waterstone, perhaps they won't have the same issue. But with the new gasket attached, the replacement unit works superbly! It's a fabulous product. Hope this helps.
A Just buy a replacement tank and install it yourself or hire a plumber. Everything you need will come with the new tank. I replaced mine in about ten minutes and I don't claim to be a plumber. Rich.
A When you take the hoses off, more than likely you will damage the connectors. A replacement connector to the center post is NOT supplied by vendor. Be sure you have a plumber install. I spent a week and numerous phone calls before I got the correct connector. Even calling waste king CS did not help - they gave me the number of the connector, but nobody has it in stock. Good Luck.
A I shouldn't think you would need anything else.
A I replaced a different hot water tank with this one from waste king. Plug and play if you will, no need for plumber, no need to screw on anything . Parts are all there.
A Remove and replace is simple and easy (you may have to pay a plumber $125/hr. to do the install-your call). The unit hangs on a standard clip, plugs into a standard 120v outlet & requires standard household tools to disconnect/connect the water hookup. Try the install yourself; if you don't have the confidence that you can continue, call for help. Don't turn the temp to high; set thermostat low for the unit to heat adjust and use a thermometer to check the water temp. Keep the temp around 140 deg. and the unit could last up to 15 years. Having the water boiling hot (212 deg.) causes the tank and parts to deteriorate yielding half the life. Use the turn knob valve for the sink spigot, not the lever type-it will last more than 15 years also.
A I installed the Waste King AH 1300 myself. It was a perfect fit for the leaking Kitchen Aid hot water unit.
Q Can I use this quick and hot with a kitchen aid faucet? I previously had an insinkerator unit that looks similar on it.
A We purchased the Quick and Hot tank in January and had a plumber install it to a Kitchenaide faucet. It works fine, the flow is a little slower, but other than that it works great.
A Yes. I believe Franke Little Butler, Waste King, Insinkerator, and Ever Pure are all made by the same manufacturer.
A It's separate from the faucet. We did have an InSinkErator hot tap and this unit dropped right in the same hole. The plumbing and electrical connections are all similar.
Q Can this unit replace the insinkerator model HN-3W-17.. It has a 1/2 gallon capacity tank? Thank you
A This is an awesome unit. However if you have a insinkerators this faucet will not work. It has 1 input and 1 output. The insinkerators have several hoses . I hope this answers your question.
A I don't know if it will replace that specific unit, but I did replace a worn out InSinkErator unit that lasted about 10 years. I have been very happy with the Waste King and it puts out all the hot water I need. Replacement was pretty straightforward, and the tap itself is certainly more attractive. I would buy another if in the market.
A I used the AH-1300-C to replace a Kitchen Aid tank, I'm sorry I don't know about the Insinkeraror tank.
Q Is this tank compatiabloe with a kitchen aid model # THWL160PCR0?
A I have had customer's purchase this item as a replacement for their KitchenAid Instant Hot Water tank. They never returned it or called to complain that it did not work. It should be a compatible replacement.
Q Is this the same as the AH 1300?
A The AH-1300-C only dispenses hot water. It should be the same as the AH-1300.
A is that the ah- 1300-c does cold water and hot water
Q Why did you choose this?
A To replace the tank from my Kitchenaide hot water dispenser
