This UKF8001 Maytag Refrigerator Water Filter is used in Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Whirlpool, and KitchenAid top and bottom-mount refrigerators with filter access inside the refrigerator. Simply turn the Refrigerator Water Filter to remove and replace.
 
While retaining beneficial fluoride, this NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filter reduces cysts, chlorine taste and odor, particulates (class I), lead, and mercury. The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily in all users' water.
 
Replacing this Refrigerator Water Filter every 6 months ensures clean, safe drinking water.

Q HOW LONG DOES THIS FILTER LAST?
A Each filter lasts approx 1 year.
A We've been getting this filter for a while and find it lasts about 4-5 months depending on usage. When my wife starts drinking more tea in the colder months, closer to the 4 months. Otherwise 5 to 5+ months and I make 6-8 cups of coffee a day. Our water has a fairly hard (minerals) and the city chlorinates. The difference between the tap water taste and the filtered water is night and day. I wish we'd had the water-in-door type refrigerator years ago. We also have the pitcher type PUR, but I don't think it does as good a job as this filter. Recommended.
A Generally speaking, the filter will last 6 months which is the recommended time to change your water filter.
