Q could i place this sytem on the cold supply line to my hot water heater and have the hot water be filter ?

A The reverse osmosis system is for your drinking and cooking water and does not provide enough water for washing dishes or regular water usage such as a Hot Water Heater. Also, it is not made for hot water, so you would use your regular sink faucet for those things, and the R.O. faucet for your clean, great tasting water.
