Question & Answers

Q Is there a replacement cartridge for this filter or do I have to re-order the entire filter every 6 months?
A you can buy only filter on line or a pack of two at home depe
A Just buy a GXRLQR replacemant filter and it will fit the head you have now
A Yes, there is a replacement cartridge that can be purchased for this system. The replacement filter number is GXRLQR
Q I don't understand how the sensor on my filter works. Presently there is a steady blue light. How will I know when to change the filter?
A You have to press the button for 5-10 seconds and the light will go out. I can only imagine that the light contains a simple digital timer. There is certainly no communication between the light and filter so it can only be a timer. This is all from memory since, after relying on the light for a while, I threw it away and just marked the date on my calendar, but to each his/her own. Good luck !
A There is no light on the filter itself, if I understand your question correctly. If the light is on the appliance, I suggest you contact the manufacturer. Sorry I can't be helpful.
A I'm curious where the steady blue light is. I'm not sure we have we have the same filter. I've never seen any kind of light. I just change it as is stated. Every 6 months or more if I notice a change in the ice flavor.
A I replace mine when it takes 1 Minute to fill a .5 liter bottle.

A This is completely different from you present unit. You would need to install semi flexible tubing with a shut off at the your water line
A I don't know the dimensions of the filters. I replaced another type/brand with the GE filter. I had plenty of copper tubing to adjust the spacing. My application is for a humidifier on my hearing system. Unless the water is filtered effectively, white dust is produced when the heating system and humidifier are in use. The GE filter has improved but not eliminated the white dust problem.
Q Why did you choose this?
A Because we have an GE refig
